April 1st - No Fools happening
Good Morning, on this fine winning Wednesday. Today we support our favorite sports team. I have many, Duke, Baylor, Texas Tech, Kansas, and always the underdog or Cinderella team. It is a shame we will can't watch NCAA tournament right now due to this virus. Doesn't matter to me I do not have cable lol. Hopefully soon, but ESPN has been airing past tournaments, which is cool for all these young students to watch.
Why I am a fan of the schools I listed? Let me share.
Duke- mainly my brother Josh. OMGoodness he has always loved Duke Basketball. He got me hooked on this team and I cheer them on for him. I hope someday to get to go to a Duke game at Cameron Stadium Man that would be sooo cool!
Baylor - Lady Bears! I was fortunate to work basketball camp there right after I had Cora, Spring of 2005. The Lady Bears won their first National Championship. AS a worker, we had the privilege to work with the team players and coaches. The Lady Bears just received their rings, holy cow they were huge! We got to try them on but of course cell phones back then didn't have cameras or weren't a need to carry around with us 24-7. What an experience!
Texas Tech - Raiders, mens basketball team and the Lady Raiders back when I was in high school won the national championship. Here lately they have had coaches changes which make it difficult to win. The mens team has been something special. They have talent but their Coach is energetic! I believe the magic to his team the the team energy, how well they get along, no tension and they play for each other. No matter the level of play, teamwork will work on any levels, little dribblers, select, jr high, high school, collegiate or NBA, it is the team difference when everyone plays for each other and just not themselves.
Kansas - I really don't cheer for them more against them lol. I coached a young lady by the name of abby Wisdom and she loves the Kansas Jayhawks. To this day whenever they play Tech or Duke we message each other and talk smack. lol. She lives now in Kansas and her dream someday is to go watch a game. I hope that dream of hers gets fulfilled for her.
Underdog / Cinderella team. Man those teams come into the tournaments with nothing to lose! absolutely nothing. They play with all heart and soul. What is amazing is they play up to their opponents level. They bring energy, excitement, enthusiasm! They are always the ones to be excited to be there and be there with a purpose, not by accident but by hard work, dreams, goals set by the team. Those goals were set just a day before their conference tournament but 9 months ago! That is how long it takes to carry a child!
I got to experience the NCAA tournament mens in Dallas back in 2017 or 2018 can't remember might have have another year. who knows! The excitement, the fans from all over the nation, packed in one gymnasium to watch kids, kids PLAY their heart and souls out. Coaches to control their teams with all the excitement around them. Gyms change in sizes, the floors in colors, the seating, all of that changes BUT one thing doesn't. Teams Game Plans! They stuck it out, stuck with each other, stuck to their game plans! When your plan is set, it takes everyone to follow the plan. One person can make or break the team, more less the plan.
Have a greta day! The choice is yours!
